On the 31st of last March 2007, a major industrial project lead to the merging of two of the most renowned companies of our sector: ICF INDUSTRIE CIBEC S.p.A. in Maranello and WELKO srl in Spino d'Adda. Even if these two companies were already part of the same industrial group, up-to-date they have always worked independently in the tile manufacturing sector with different complementary products and organisations. WELKO has supplied Presses, Kilns and complete plants all around the world and ICF INDUSTRIE CIBEC has won a leading position, again at a worldwide level, thanks to its outstanding specialisation in supplying preparation plants for ceramic mixes.

Both companies are strongly characterised by their important background and have contributed remarkably in developing the tile manufacturing sector. They have always stood out amongst others in their specific fields of activity thanks to the futuristic technical solutions and the reliability of the machines and plants offered. The decision to merge these two companies derived mainly from the demands of an ever-globalised worldwide market where competition, even on behalf of foreign manufacturers, has become much more challenging and where manufacturers are obliged, in order to reduce costs, to optimise volumes and to increase popularity, to fully exploit resources, synergies and potentials, especially if these are available within the same group.

ICF & Welko S.p.A. has its head office and operational premises in Via SICILIA 10 in MARANELLO (MODENA) c/o the historical offices of ICF INDUSTRIE CIBEC SpA situated in the heart of the most important tile manufacturing district of the world. The new company denominated ICF & Welko S.p.A. does not only exploit the factory in MARANELLO but also that in SPINO d'ADDA, being the historical head office of WELKO, where it continues to produce presses and kilns, while the commercial and technical structures where the plants of Welko will be designed and developed have been transferred to the premises in Maranello. The new organisation of ICF & Welko S.p.A. still integrate all the structures including head offices abroad, owned by the companies or previously exploited by the two companies that have merged to create this new enterprise. Through this major operation, ICF & Welko S.p.A. is in the perfect position to tackle the market aggressively and dynamically thanks to a well structured, reliable and organised team in order to offer prompt and rapid services backed-up by experience, innovation, reliability, presence on the market and assistance.
